Title: Facebook under fire from drag queens over ‘real name’ rule

Title: Facebook under fire from drag queens over ‘real name’ rule

This article is about an issue with Facebook amongst the drag queen community, where they need to use their real names in order to create a Facebook account instead of using their alias. This article skims the controversy of how harmful it may be to victims of abuse or activists. The arguments on the other side are portrayed effectively through a comment from Olivia La Grace a Seattle-based performer who states “we are not businesses selling products...”

In my opinion, this article brings up the major issue of privacy online and whether we actually have it or are we being monitored 24/7. Also, the reasons on both sides have been justified, Facebook has to keep its users safe so they need them to provide real names and the drag queens are justified as they want to keep their private and professional life separate, so that they are not abused or anything online.
